Siesta Rev is part of a 1913 re-plat of Siesta Key. Siesta Rev is the further most northern development on the island. Homes here feature some of the best views of Sarasota Bay and the Sarasota city skyline. The properties here are actually located within Sarasota city limits. Siesta Rev also includes Bayou Louise and Gulfmead Estates; these two sub-developments within the Siesta Key re-plat are where gulf side residences can be found.
The best thing about the Siesta Rev area is its location along the northern entrance to Siesta Key. This gives residents of Siesta Rev easy access to all the shopping opportunities in Sarasota as well as close access to the arts and culture district of Downtown Sarasota.
There is definitely a cultural difference between areas of Siesta Key. The “Trendy” crowd of older, more affluent full-time residents seems to prefer the northern Siesta Key locations. This vibe is also felt in Sarasota communities such as Cherokee Park, Paradise Shores, Harbor Acres and McClellan Park. Siesta communities such as Sanderling Club have more of the Casey Key “exclusivity” vibe and the central part of Siesta Key is a eclectic mix of homeowners from all over the world that use their home in the winter months as well as many full time residents that could not exist without the key lifestyle. The condo communities that line Siesta Key Beach certainly have the tourist vibe and turnover of these residents is quite high. Many of these condo developments thrive on weekly rentals.
