Point of Rocks is a residential neighborhood located on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. The development is just south of Siesta Key Beach and Crescent Beach, the #2 rated beaches in the United States. At the “Great International White Sand Beach Challenge” held in 1987, these beaches were recognized as having the whitest and finest sand in the world.
Point of Rocks is actually a rare coastal headland that is responsible for keeping the micro fine sands found on Siesta Key Beach and Crescent Beach in place. Homes in the Point of Rocks development are on the highest geographical point of Siesta Key and this is a big plus in the rare event the island receives a storm surge from a passing hurricane.
If owning a beach front residence in Florida is a concern, the elevation of this area provides residences significant protection from the flooding waters that can accompany a hurricane.
